Season 1 hub
Season 1 of MetaMask Rewards ended on Thursday, January 22nd at 11:00pm EST. You can no longer earn points for Season 1, but you can claim your rewards. Keep reading for more information.
Rewards
Make sure to update your app to version 7.62 or later. For help updating your app, check out our support article. Most Season 1 rewards had an expiration date of February 23rd, 2026. If you did not claim them before the expiration date, you will not be able to do so now. To see if a reward is still available to claim, check out the 'Rewards' tab on MetaMask Mobile, and you'll see a countdown timer for available rewards.
Linea allocation
The Linea allocation is now available for distribution. You will need to have ETH on Linea to cover the gas cost for the claim. To get ETH on Linea, you can use MetaMask Swaps, or click 'Buy' in MetaMask Mobile.
Head to the 'Rewards' tab on MetaMask Mobile.
There, click 'Your $LINEA is ready', and click 'Access'.
On the Merkl site, click 'Connect'. Make sure to connect your MetaMask wallet with the same address shown on the Merkl dashboard.
Once you've connected the correct wallet, you'll be able to claim your $LINEA allocation. Click 'Claim', and make sure Linea is selected. 'Claim rewards on a specific address' is a unique feature of Merkl, and you can ignore it for this claim process.
Then, click 'Claim Rewards'. You'll see a confirmation screen where you can view the transaction details, and confirm the transaction.
Your $LINEA tokens will be available in your MetaMask wallet within a few minutes.
What happens to $LINEA rewards that aren't claimed?
Users who do not claim their $LINEA allocation during the official $LINEA claim window will not be able to claim it later. Any unclaimed $LINEA tokens will go back into the ecosystem fund.

* Token allocation is proportional to the points you earn compared to the total number of points earned by all users in Season 1.
How were points calculated?
The following table shows what actions were eligible for points during Season 1, and how many points you earned based on the transaction’s USD value.

* Supported networks are Ethereum Mainnet, Linea, OP Mainnet, BSC, Polygon, Base, Arbitrum, Avalanche, zkSync, TRON, and Solana.
The above amounts scaled in proportion to the transaction amount. For example, if you swapped $50 worth of USDC on Ethereum Mainnet, you’d have earned 40 points.
Technically speaking, points were calculated based on the fee paid for the transaction, which scaled with the value of the transaction. When you paid a full fee, you earned the full number of points for the transaction. If you paid a discounted fee, you earned a proportionate number of points. For example, when you reached level 4, you received a 50% perps fee discount, so you earned 50% of the points for those discounted transactions.
Points were only awarded for transactions that included a fee. Certain transactions may not have fees at times, including certain prediction market trades, in which case no points were awarded for those transactions.
MetaMask calculated the USD value of the token you’re transacting with at the time the transaction was confirmed on chain.
For example, if you swapped 2 ETH into USDC, your points were calculated by the value of ETH in USD when the transaction was confirmed on chain. Because of this, the estimated points shown on the transaction’s confirmation screen may differ slightly from the actual points earned.
Timeline
Season 1 ended on Thursday, January 22nd at 11:00pm EST. End of season rewards are available to redeem until February 23rd, 2026.
The $LINEA allocation follows a slightly different timeline. It is now available for distribution.
